I was Delta Company 1st Bn 1st Marine Regiment , 1st Marine Div. We were attached to 3rd Marine Division. Some of the places I was at, Con Thien...aka Hill of Angels. Yankee Station, one of Con Thien's Outposts. Also was on the bridges South of Hue City 1968 before Tet 68. My unit was sent into Hue City when the TET Offensive had happened... "Bad Place." Khe Sahn after Hue City, 1/1 was mainly on the hills around the Base. Hill 881s, Hill861, Hill 689 when the Khe Sahn airstrip and base were shut down , the personnel in the hills, provided Rear Guard Security while the Base Closed. Many other Operations and OutPosts I was at along the DMZ during 1967 - 69. I received the Purple Heart twice...the 2nd time was Aug24th, 68 in and around Qua Viet and or the river.
When I came home I stayed for awhile , then re-upped for duty back overseas. I went to Morocco and thought I was going to Monoco... BIG Difference. I was in the Middle East during the 70's and Israel Loved the place, to bad the Arab Countries turned out the way it did... I can remember Beruit Lebenon being the Pearl of the Middle East, then 1983! bad news. All in all I had a great tour.... it will be added to as I go along

My hobbies include BUT not limited to... Astronomy, ( have a telescope ) Wife and I set it up in back of house. Art ( Pencil Drawing and Pastel Work. Photography and music ( guitar and piano ) I grew up in a musical family.... Mom was a Piano Teacher on the side. Tai Chi Chu'uan, Martial Arts... and spending time at the Gym working out... swimming and such!
Reading and just spending time with the wife.... when I retired we left Washington DC metro area... December 27th, 2001 .... and settled here in East Tennessee.... small town.
